Service Area
The City of Dothan provides water services to the majority of the city limits and, in some cases, beyond. Currently, service is available in areas west to Hwy. 123, east to Sanitary Dairy Road, north to Highway 134, and south to the city limits.
Connecting Water Service
Connections, transfers, and cut-offs can be requested in person at the Utility Services Office on the 2nd floor of the Civic Center located at 126 North Saint Andrews Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. All Connections require a $25.00 connection fee.
New construction information may be obtained from the Water Engineer at (334) 615-3200.
Deposits, Fees, and Permits
Residential Deposit:
Activate an existing or new service account - $ 10.00
Commercial / Industrial Deposit:
Contact the Permits & Inspection Office at (334) 615-4450.
Fees:

Permits:
Required for new meter installations. Obtain permit from the permit office located on the 3rd floor of the Civic Center at 126 North Saint Andrews Street.

Paying Your Water Bill
Fees for water service are combined on one bill with electric and sewer, if applicable. Payments may be made on-line (www.dothan.org), in person, by mail or automatic draft.
Main Office - 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (2nd floor of the Civic Center)
Drive-thru Facility - 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (South side of Civic Center)
Disconnections
To discontinue your water service, go to the Utility Services Office located on the 2nd floor of the Civic Center at 126 North Saint Andrews Street between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Disconnection Due To Non-payment
If your water service is turned off due to non-payment, your service can be restored by paying any due amounts and a reconnection fee. Fees should be paid at the Utility Services office located at the Civic Center between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. To restore service after hours, call (334) 615-3000.

Emergency Service
The City of Dothan provides emergency repair and turning on/off of water service 24 hours a day. Customers should have a hand valve on their side of the meter to turn on/off water service or they may call the City for assistance if unable to do so.
