| The City of Dothan has a five member Personnel Board appointed by the Citizens Supervisory Committee. The members are:
Mary W. Davis, Chair Alan B. Clark Mark Smith Earl Tyson Barbara A. Spann
The Personnel Board normally meets the second Monday of the month in the Sakado Room, 2nd Floor, Civic Center at 3:30 p.m. Board meetings are open to the public.
The City of Dothan Civil Service Act (Act No. 273, Alabama Law, dated August 7, 1947, as amended) sets out the powers, authorities and duties of the Personnel Board. These include but are not limited to:
- selecting the Personnel Director
- adopting rules and regulations for the administration of the provisions of the Civil Service Act
- making reasonable investigations of all charges or complaints presented to it concerning the observance of the provisions of the Civil Service Act
- enforcing the provisions of the Act and the provisions of the rules and regulations; approving the classification, compensation and job evaluation plans authorized by the Act
- holding hearings and issuing orders as necessary and proper to improve the administration of the Classified Service established by the Act.
